Breast Reduction
Breast reduction, also known as reduction mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure that reduces the size and weight of the breasts by removing excess tissue, fat and skin. This procedure is usually performed on women who experience discomfort and pain associated with large breasts, such as neck and back pain, shoulder grooves, and skin irritation. Breast reduction also improves the overall appearance of the breasts and increases self-confidence. Surgery typically involves making incisions around the areola and up to the breast crease, followed by removal of excess breast tissue and skin. The remaining tissue is then reshaped and the nipple and areola are repositioned. Recovery time varies from person to person, but most patients can return to their normal activities within a few weeks.
