Ear Aesthetics (Otoplasty)
Otoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to reshape the ears, especially to correct prominent ears or misshapen ears. The procedure is typically done in children, as the ears are fully developed by the age of six, but it can also be done in adults. During the procedure, the surgeon will make incisions behind the ears, remove or reshape the cartilage as needed, and secure the ears closer to the head using sutures. Recovery from otoplasty usually takes several weeks, and during this time patients should avoid strenuous activities and take care to protect their ears. Overall, otoplasty is a safe and effective way to improve the appearance of the ears and increase self-confidence.
